prelude to blog

what got me to the 'hairbrained idea' was a journey into my past and the people that had touched me enough that i remembered them. i could not believe how few people i could remember and i wondered if anyone remembered me. so i struck out to find and contact the few i did remember. i have successfully re-connected with 2 college friends and feel really good about it.

you'all are the only pre-college friends i can remember and even though we have a shared past that dates back to 5th grade it's 'the trip' that burned an everlasting memory. once i re-connected with both of you and found the stories and experiences just oozing out i thought how cool it would be to sit down together and talk. fortunately joe had a better idea and created this living/breathing blog. this is so much better than a 1 time sit down.....we would have never recalled this much in such detail....even though i'd love to see everyone again.

I actually remember coming home from school and telling my mother that there was a boy in my class whose dad was in Viet Nam, and that we should have him and his mom over for dinner. The ensuing discovey that the madres had been childhood friends is one of the best moments, no?

I suspect we will see each other again this side of the great beyond, but for now Joe's initiative is a major treat!
