synchronicity

Hmmmm. Once in a while I have embarked on an adventure where little or nothing "goes wrong". I've spent a tremendous amount of time boating in salt water, for example, but rarely do I recall (or choose to recall) a "perfect" voyage. The sudden parting of a shroud, a savage storm, a shear pin failure . . . this is the stuff good stories are made of.

The mosquito adventure is a great moment of misadventure. It is true that we have the electric swimming pool, brakes being slammed, and off-roading . . . but nothing has rung so true as this mosquito story. Very cool. The "man bites dog" dictum from NY Sun's John Bogart is probably at the heart of this, no?
