bored at work, part 2

Either we are slow or I'm just so good at what I do that I've got time on my hands.

Now in the old days you would have to invent your entertainment if you were bored (see Joe's earlier post), but, now we have the internet to surf.

1: did you know they are building a interstate across the Colorado river just south of the Hoover Dam. The bridge will have to be humongous. The satellite picture is awesome. I guess getting into or out of Las Vegas from the south is cumbersome having to driver over the dam. This way you get to see the dam from the highway without doing 25 mph on the back roads.

2: let's play a game: TOP 5 memories/stories from THE TRIP.

here's mine.

1: katie (nothing like young love)
2: yellowstone (the bear pic, hiking to grizzly lake, geysers)
3: animal crackers and driving off road
4: the wrath of Rand McNally
5: Rock and Hedges

honorable mentions
A: colorado springs (the hotel stay and all the events)
B: San Francisco (the entire stay and stories)
C: zion national park (never seen anything like that before0
D: yosemite
E: our rolling home on wheel: the Land Cruiser

well, I've wasted enough time. Hope you all had a good 4th. I'll be off to N.C. to visit my Mom on or about 7/15 and returning on or about 7/21. If either of you are going to be around you home town I will be within spitting distance and would love to stop and have a cup of joe.

I can't weigh in on the best part of the trip . . . or can I? Hmmm. Jumping into the freezing waterfall pool where Joe came up and shook his head--thereby losing his glasses-- is prominent. But really, just rolling along watching America pass by was really #1 in my book. Where does your mama mia live now?

Driving down I-75 to I-40 to I-26 to I-85.....so I'll be driving right by your digs tomorrow afternoon and monday morning...should i give you a call when I'm near by and see if we can have a cup of coffee?

sorry gang, but things did not work out as planned on my return home Monday.

1st of all, i managed to go swimming saturday evening with my cell phone firming planted in my pocket. thus all my phone #'s disappeared as well as my ability to communicate while in transit. Joe did give me Henry's phone number and i was planning on calling monday morning using Charles' cell, but Ciera had a really rough night (did not get to sleep until 3:30 am) so, after getting up @ 5:00 am and slamming everyone into the van i made a beeline home. fortunately both children slept for almost the entire trip. i stopped for gas once and made 2 piss stops and was home by 1:15. i could not afford to make any detours.....sorry.

my email: bhansen@shemchem.com

i should be getting a new phone today (this is a work provided by work) and hopefully all my old numbers will be recoverable. if not i'll shoot you all an email asking for your digits.

the kids and i had a great time hanging out with my mom. i made sure she was up to speed with the blog and she says to 'say hi' to both of you. this was really Ciera's vacation and we did a lot of activities that were strictly for her. Charles was a prince and did not complain once about the extra duties he was asked to take on. gonna miss him when he starts college in 6 weeks.
