
The camp stove was blue, rusty, and sold by Montomery Ward. When anything boiled over it was very difficult to get to the spill below the burners. We only used "white gas" (much cheaper than Coleman fuel) that we bought at gas stations advertising same.
The stinky canvas tent, a 9 x 9 umbrella as I recall, was also from MW. We carried the poles in my mother's "Patty Berg" golf bag; the stakes were in the zippered ball compartment. The tent finally met its demise when I set fire to it (and me!) during a winter camping trip to Mammoth Cave. It's a long story . . .
