We are funny people. I perceive that this blog will not only connect some dots in our memories of a terrifically important coming-of-age trip, but has already begun to effect some catharses in heretofore hidden corners of conscience. Way cool. Bill, contact brother Al at Acts29 and report in on our improved spiritual conditions!
I can't help but think that the whole trip is now shaping up as a very extended metaphor. Huck had his raft and the river; we had a jeep and an endless highway. Now, like the ending of the greatest novel, we're like the Rachael, looking for her lost children.
Or not. I'm just feeling prosy this morning. Back down to earth now: how much money did each of us bring? I seem to recall that Joe had a briefcase full of ones . . . ?
