and off we go, pt.2


Bill: compare your "luggage rack coming off" to my similar description in the first post! (Thanks for the additional details I'd forgotten.)

Jonesboro, AR: We visited the sister of my friend (and Henry's friend!) Cindy Sanderson, whom I don't believe I'd ever met before. We went to her house and then she took us onto campus to see, I think, her pottery studio. She was delightful and gracious.

Galveston: I remember that we tried to sleep in the jeep but the mosquitos were biting you — my powerful teen age body odor seemed to hold them at bay. I slept like a stinky baby while you pumped gas all night.

Big Bend Nat'l Park: We did get to one thing worth seeing. We hiked down a path to a place where a canyon got narrower and narrower until the trickle of water spilled through a crack no wider than a man and appeared to end up on a plain thousands of feet below. The above topo map proves me a terminal exaggerator.
