i need some help here. the northwest is a blur. the best story needs to be written by joe (or hank if he remembers it) that deals with spending a night in spokane (bring me a shrubbery)....i remember the story as retold by joe (with a faint recollection of the house, candelabra, no water or electric).
after spokane i remember pulling off the road in montana just across the idaho boarder as the sun was getting low and we needed a place to spend the night. we found a gravel road and accessed a rock beach along the yellowstone river. we hadn't bathed since san fran (i think, i still don't know what we did in portland or where we stayed between san fran and spokane). i remember diving into the river and swimming out 5 or 10 yards and swimming back....the water was frigid and moving pretty quick because my 'swimming back' took me 20+ yards down stream. we soaped up and survived another night in the middle of nowhere that could have been wrought with danger (serial killer, bear...god knows what, but we continued to be 'immortal'.
