joe, great stuff. i do not remember the water jug at all or the escaped pillow event, but now i understand hank's perspective a lot more.
we left tucson and headed to the north rim of the grand canyon (so see we were 'frugal' and were planning to camp in the kabob national forest for free and hell the canyon from one side should be about the same as the other, right). i slept 75 % of that travel day as i was up most of the night getting as much physical time as possible with katie. we traveled thru some awesome desert landscapes as we took the 'path less traveled' in going around to the north rim. i remember that joe and hank wanted to walk down to the bottom of the canyon. i had no desire and sat around the national park building sunning myself and writing a letter to katie. as memory serves me you'all made it half way down and turned back. donkey piss fumes and heat where to much.
the next leg of the trip took us thru zion national park. it was truely the most unique rock formations i have every seen and talk about it to this day. winding roads and tunnels thru rock, felt like i was on another planet (if you ever get to the badlands of s.d. is gives you the same feeling).
on to vegas.......cheap food, air conditioning and waiting for night fall.....
