TUCSON AND STUFF

Hank, good to see you are checking in and hope that some of this dribble will spark a memory or 2. I have no idea why i remember all this at all. It was a long time ago. It must have deeply impacted my soul, because of all the thousands upon thousands of people and places i've know and forgotten, this trip is still fresh. I have re-lived bit and pieces of it hundreds of times over the years with stories that come out with friends and family (and an occasion stranger during a good drunk). It was a hell of a coming of age trip for me. Proving to myself I could survive outside the home and be ok. remember i was shy and insecure at that age. That living with 2 almost complete strangers has it ups and downs (yes i've know you all my life, but never lived near you or in such close proximity).

to answer you question, no i donot have glaucoma. i was just trying to be funny because most of these old memories are hazy and yet i tend to treat them as 'cystal clear'. for example we stayed in tucson with a family that lived across the street from joe in lexington. as joe tells me, 5 girls, with jane being 1 year older than us and katie being 1 year younger. i had a torrid 4 day romance with katie.........i remember driving or picking her up at work (Dairy Queen odors and a hot 17 year old, wow) and being quite smitten and our planned 2 day stay became 4 (thanks to you and joe being charitable to a love struck puppy, as much as a 18 year can be , but you know it was a mutual admiration society). katie and i wrote to each other all summer, with me picking up letters at General Delivery at post offices along our route. this has to be the nicest memory of the entire trip.........
